Chelsea have identified Loic Bade as a key defensive target for the summer, as the Stamford Bridge side plans on changes to their backline.
According to Fichajes, Chelsea have set sights on Loic Bade as an important defensive addition in the summer. The Blues could open talks with Sevilla in a bid to sign the French defender with an Olympic medal, although convincing him to leave the Spanish club have been difficult in the past.
Loic Bade has made a reputation for himself as one of the most effective players in La Liga over the course of the last 18 months or so. The Sevilla defender has been courting big interest from Premier League clubs since last summer while also rejecting the overtures of Aston Villa in January.
While it would take a big offer to sign the La Liga defensive powerhouse, an interesting sporting project is also key to signing the Olympic medalist. Sevilla will concede defeat in their efforts to keep him should a big offer arrive on their table, as Chelsea are now considering making a move for the Frenchman.
Chelsea are an evolving team, as they are constantly looking to improve their squad using the transfer window. In theory, no player is safe at Stamford Bridge, as they are looking to make fundamental changes to their defence, as Bade could be an important addition from their perspective.
They have names like Jules Kounde on their list, although the Barcelona man will be an expensive signing, while the Blues are also looking at Marc Guehi as a big target. Bade could be that value-added signing that Chelsea might consider bringing in the summer, as he’s seen as a priority signing for the Blues.
Chelsea are looking at defensive changes
There are considerable doubts about Wesley Fofana due to his constant fitness issues, while Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile do not have a future at the club. Chelsea are ready to sell Trevoh Chalobah in the summer despite recalling the defender from his loan at Crystal Palace in January.
Hence, it could be a case of adding one or more defenders in the summer while offloading those who are not suited for their project in the future. Chelsea are not afraid to invest big in new talents, and that might be the case when chasing Bade in the summer.
