Chelsea unwilling to lose Renato Veiga permanently

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have no intentions of sanctioning the permanent departure of their defensive sensation Renato Veiga.

Renato Veiga ended up joining Juventus during the winter transfer window on a short loan spell. While the Old Lady are keen on acquiring his services on a permanent basis, Chelsea have already made up their mind regarding his future.

According to a report from TBR, the Blues do not intend to part ways with him on a permanent basis. They are very impressed by the Portuguese defender and consider him an important part of their plans moving ahead.

While things didn’t work out for Veiga at Sporting CP, the move to FC Basel helped him secure regular first-team football. His impressive performances for the Swiss club along with his massive potential place him on the radar of Chelsea who signed him last summer.

Veiga’s Juventus move

Unfortunately, he couldn’t get enough first-team action at the London club during the first half of the season. As a result, he ended up joining Juventus in the recently concluded winter window. While it hasn’t been long since he made the move to Turin, the 21-year-old centre-back has already managed to impress people at the Italian club.

He has established himself as a key figure in Thiago Motta’s team in no time. They are now keen on having him at the club beyond his loan spell and are considering putting an offer on the table. But, according to the report, Chelsea do not want to part ways with him permanently.

Chelsea won’t sell Veiga

The Blues haven’t given up on them and they believe he could still have a future at the club. They are impressed with his performances at the Turin-based club and feel he could play an important part in Enzo Maresca’s long-term plans.

The 21-year-old has all the qualities needed to compete with Levi Colwill for a place in the starting XI. The London club didn’t include a buy-option in the loan deal as a sign of faith in the player. While reports suggest they had set an asking price, they haven’t defined anything as they believe his price will only go up if he keeps performing.
