Manchester City bracing for Bernardo Silva proposals

Clubs in Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia are keen on signing Manchester City midfield mainstay Bernardo Silva.

According to a report from Football Insider, Manchester City are now bracing for offers from clubs in Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia for their star Bernardo Silva whose contract at the club is running down.

After making a name for himself at AS Monaco, Silva joined City in the summer of 2016 and he hasn’t looked back since. He has established himself as one of the stars in Pep Guardiola’s team and has helped them win the Champions League and six Premier League titles.

While he prefers playing as an attacking midfielder, the Spanish manager has used him on the flanks as well as in a deeper role in midfield. Silva remains a key figure at City and since he is only 30, he still has a lot of football left in him.

But, with his contract running out in the summer of 2026, there is a lot of talk about his future. Since he will only have 12 months left on his deal at the end of the season, the off-season might be City’s last opportunity to cash in on him unless they manage to pen a new deal with him.

Silva could leave City next summer

The player’s camp and City will hold talks regarding his future after the end of the ongoing season. For now, both parties are fully focused on the task at hand. Silva has often been linked with a move away from the Premier League giants and there are high chances that he could choose to walk away in the summer.

Clubs in Spain and Portugal as well as clubs from the Saudi Pro League are keen on his signature. With some of the biggest clubs after his signature, City are bracing themselves for offers for the 30-year-old Portuguese international. While the Premier League giants will try their best to extend his stay at the club, they won’t stand in his way if he chooses to walk away.

Pep Guardiola’s team have already started a rebuild in January and they will continue along similar lines next summer. As a result, it won’t be a major surprise if quite a few of their stars end up leaving.
