Bayern Munich issue ultimatum to Joshua Kimmich amid Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid links

Bayern Munich have issued an ultimatum to their star midfielder Joshua Kimmich amidst interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

According to a report from Fichajes, Bayern Munich want to sort out the future of Joshua Kimmich on a priority basis. The German giants have issued an ultimatum to the player as they want him to decide on his future as soon as possible.

Kimmich joined Bayern almost a decade back after coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at VfB Stuttgart. He has done wonders for the German club over the years helping them win numerous titles.

While he prefers playing as a defensive midfielder, he has excelled in the midfield role as well as a right-back. The 30-year-old is still one of their most important players at Bayern but his continuity at the club is not a certainty.

Kimmich’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he hasn’t given his green light to a new deal. With just months left on his deal, there is a lot of panic at the German club. While they have managed to secure the long-term future of Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala and Manuel Neuer, the former Stuttgart star’s contract situation has become a big headache for them.

European giants pushing for Kimmich

With the German international potentially available for free next summer, some of the biggest clubs are gearing up to make a move. Real Madrid are keen on his signature as they see him as an ideal replacement for Toni Kroos who retired at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, Hansi Flick wants to reunite with Kimmich at Barcelona after having worked with him during his days at Bayern. Even Pep Guardiola wants a reunion at Manchester City. The English giants seek more quality in midfield as well as right-back and the 30-year-old could solve both problems. Both City and the Catalan giants have been keeping a close eye on his situation.

With European giants waiting to pounce on any opportunity, Bayern have issued an ultimatum to their star who is yet to accept renewal terms. The German club are putting pressure on the player as the club’s president Herbert Heiner wants this issue resolved as soon as possible.

They do not want another soap opera unfolding in their dressing room, and the player’s camp must quickly decide whether to continue at Allianz Arena or seek a new challenge.
