Chelsea are ready to battle it out with rivals Arsenal for the signature of Spanish attacking sensation Yeremay Hernandez.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in acquiring the services of Yeremay Hernandez who has made quite a name for himself with his performances for Deportivo La Coruña. Both London clubs could battle it out for the signature of the Spanish youth international.
While things didn’t work out for Hernandez at the Real Madrid youth ranks, his move to Deportivo La Coruña in 2017 has certainly helped his cause. It gave him a much easier path to the first team.
Since getting promoted to the senior side in the summer of 2022, he hasn’t looked back. The 22-year-old left-winger has gone from strength to strength over the years and has established himself as a key figure in the team.
He is having a phenomenal season this time around as he has bagged nine goals and three assists in his 23 league games in Spain’s second division. His performances have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs.
Hernandez could be heading to London
His ability to take on defenders and his pace are major reasons why clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal are keen on his signature. Both London clubs have shown great desire to sign him and they could make a move next summer.
The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young stars who have massive potential and Hernandez seems to be an ideal fit for their project. They have made quite a few strategic investments for the long run in the recent past and triggering his €20 million release clause won’t be a problem for them.
