Atletico Madrid rival Aston Villa, Newcastle United in Nicolas Jackson chase

Aston Villa and Newcastle United will face competition from Atletico Madrid in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

According to a report from The Sun, Atletico Madrid are keen on acquiring the services of Nicolas Jackson, and they could make a move for him if the Chelsea star is made available. The Colchoneros are not the only club interested in him as Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been monitoring him.

Jackson made the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 after making a name for himself at Villarreal. While the debut season was not that great, the 23-year-old certainly picked up the pace in the ongoing campaign. He bagged nine goals and five assists in his 23 Premier League outings before picking up a hamstring injury.

Despite his impressive form, there is still question marks around his future. The Blues are not sure if Nicolas Jackson has the quality to lead them back to the very top. Chelsea have been linked with quite a few world-class forwards and if they do bring in a new striker next summer, Jackson could end up leaving the club.

Atletico Madrid want Nicolas Jackson

In a situation where the Senegalese international is made available, there won’t be any shortage of interest in him. Atletico Madrid will be the first club to pounce on an opportunity to sign him. They are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old and have watched him from close quarters during his time at Villarreal.

The Madrid-based outfit are looking to prepare for life without Antoine Griezmann, and Nicolas Jackson could be a great long-term replacement, even though is not really a like-for-like alternative. But, the Spanish giants will have to compete with Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United to rival Atletico Madrid

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are keen on reinforcing their attack, and they have been monitoring the Chelsea striker’s situation for some time now. Villa are going to find it very difficult to keep hold of Ollie Watkins beyond the summer, and they are looking at Jackson as someone who can help replace him.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak could end up leaving Newcastle United in the summer if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Jackson is a proven Premier League, and they feel he could help their cause.
