Leeds United keen on signing Eduard Spertsyan

Championship leaders Leeds United are keen on acquiring the services of Krasnodar skipper Eduard Spertsyan.

According to Ekrem Konur, Leeds United are looking to add more quality to their midfield and they are interested in signing Eduard Spertsyan who has been doing wonders in the Russian top flight. The Yorkshire-based outfit are pushing for a return to the English top flight and they have already started planning for potential signings for next summer.

Leeds are currently top of the Championship with 66 points in their 31 outings. They have a two-point cushion over second-placed Sheffield United and are on course to secure an automatic qualification to the Premier League.

While they have been doing everything just right in the second division, Daniel Farke will have to make quite a few additions to their squad ahead of next season if they do make it to the top flight. They seek more quality in the final third.

Leeds are interested in Spertsyan

Farke is looking for a more creative option down the middle and it is going to be one of their priorities next summer. According to the report, they are looking at Eduard Spertsyan as someone who can help their cause.

The Armenian international has come up the ranks at Russian club Krasnodar. He got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2021 and has only gone from strength to strength since.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has established himself as one of their mainstays and is already the skipper of their team. He has nine goal contributions in his 18 league appearances this season and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

Leeds are one of the teams that are quite impressed by his performances. The Yorkshire would love to have him in their ranks as he can add more creativity to the mix and can also offer a variety of options to Farke thanks to his ability to feature on the flanks as well as a number ten.

They are keen on his signature and it will be interesting to see if they can take it forward from here. Meanwhile, the English club could receive competition from Borussia Dortmund who have also been linked with the Krasnodar skipper.
