Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants Manchester United to sign 31-year-old English international Harry Kane from Bundesliga club Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Harry Kane is the subject of interest from Manchester United. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is driving the Premier League club’s move for the Bayern Munich striker. Meanwhile, the English international has a release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club, and the valuation of the stipulation will drop to £54 million.
Harry Kane and his career so far
Harry Kane has been one of the best players in the world for nearly a decade. The Englishman graduated from the youth division at Tottenham Hotspur and became a talismanic figure for the North London club after establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at White Hart Lane several years ago.
The 31-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham in August 2023. Kane has been exceptional thus far this season, contributing to 36 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net 26 times and providing ten assists.
Meanwhile, Kane’s stock in the market remains high, even though he is on the wrong side of 30. Widespread reports have linked the English international with Paris Saint-Germain. However, Manchester United might look to beat the competition to the Bayern Munich striker’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Harry Kane. The Red Devils have previously attempted to sign the veteran striker before zeroing in on Rasmus Hojlund for the first-choice striker’s berth. However, with Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling this season, Manchester United will likely dip into the market for a striker in the summer transfer window.
Kane has thus emerged as a viable target, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen on taking the 31-year-old Englishman to Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Kane has a release clause in his contract with Bayern Munich, and its value will drop to £54 million soon.
A deal worth £54 million makes Kane an affordable target for Manchester United. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the English international and whether he returns to the Premier League by joining Manchester United in the coming months.
