Manchester United ponder summer move for Adam Wharton

Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old English midfielder Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.

Adam Wharton has done quite well since joining Crystal Palace, and his performances have attracted the attention of Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham United.

The English international is valued at €80 million as per Fichajes, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can get the deal done.

The Red Devils have the financial resources to pay a premium for the young midfielder, and he could develop into a key player for them in the long term.  The English whizkid is already a reliable midfielder in the Premier League, and he is only going to improve further with coaching and experience.

Manchester United need more depth and quality in the middle of the park. They need someone who will help them out defensively and add composure and control to the side as well. The 21-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder could be the ideal acquisition for them.

Manchester City have been keen on the Englishman as well, and it is hardly a surprise. They have struggled in the absence of a quality defensive midfielder this season. Rodri is currently sidelined with a long-term injury, and City have needed a capable backup for the Spanish international. It will be interesting to see if they can sign the player in the summer.

Wharton could fancy joining a big club

The opportunity to join two of the biggest clubs in the country will be quite attractive for the young midfielder, and a move will be hard to turn down if there is a concrete proposal on the table. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs are willing to pay €80 million for him.

Crystal Palace Palace have the English international on a long-term contract, and they are unlikely to budge on the asking price. The South London club will look to recoup a substantial amount of money for their prized prospect.

As far as West Ham are concerned, they could use more quality in the midfield as well, but they might not be as attractive an option for the player compared to the two Manchester clubs. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months.
