Tyrell Malacia closing in on joining PSV Eindhoven

Manchester United outcast Tyrell Malacia is close to securing a move loan move to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on deadline day.

According to Joost Blaauwhof, Tyrell Malacia is on the verge of joining PSV Eindhoven on loan until the end of the season. The deal is in the final stages, and a medical has already been booked.

Malacia came up the ranks at Feyenoord and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before securing a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2022. He had an impressive debut campaign, but things have only gone downhill ever since.

The Dutchman spent the second season on the sidelines because of a serious knee injury. While he has regained full fitness and has been available for selection since November, the 25-year-old has only been involved in eight first-team fixtures.

Having racked up just over 300 minutes of first-team action despite an injury to Luke Shaw makes it quite clear that he is not an important part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. The Red Devils have been working hard to bring in a new left-back, and they have been open to negotiating Malacia’s departure since the start of the winter window.

PSV Eindhoven to win race for Malacia’s signature

The Dutch international, who only has 18 months left on his deal at Manchester United, was on the verge of joining SL Benfica last weekend. But, the deal collapsed at the last stage as the Manchester-based giants could not reach an agreement with the Portuguese club.

With Benfica failing to get a deal over the line, PSV Eindhoven have a massive opportunity to win the race for his signature. The Eredivisie club parted ways with their Belgian defensive sensation Matteo Dams a few days back and they have been looking to bring in an ideal replacement.

While they did make a late entry to sign Malacia from Manchester United, PSV are on the verge of securing his services. The 25-year-old full-back is very much on his way back to the Netherlands. Both clubs should soon have a total agreement regarding a loan deal until the end of the season. The deal is believed to be in the final stages, and a medical should follow shortly.
