Karim Adeyemi is eyeing a future move to the Premier League after rejecting an offer from Napoli to stay put at Borussia Dortmund in this window.
According to Fichajes, Karim Adeyemi has rejected an offer to join Napoli in this window as he leans towards staying at Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season. The attacker does not want to join the Serie A club, as he eyes a future move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Liverpool interested in him.
Karim Adeyemi has enjoyed a decent season at Borussia Dortmund, and he is effectively considered one of the top attacking names coming out of the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga side feared losing him in this window as there was considerable interest from suitors, including Napoli.
Napoli have been chasing a new wide attacker all month following the departure of key man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG. Antonio Conte wants to keep the levels in his squad by signing viable replacement for the Georgian international, with Alejandro Garnacho considered his primary target.
Following lengthy discussions with Manchester United and the player, Napoli have abandoned the Garnacho pursuit as things stand. Since then, the Serie A title challengers have been focused on alternative targets like Adeyemi, although the player with 11 goals and assists in the Bundesliga has rejected their overtures.
Adeyemi feels a move to Serie A is not right for his career as he targets a bigger league to fulfil his playing ambitions. The German attacker could be dreaming of a potential move to the Premier League, as Chelsea had rekindled their interest earlier, while Liverpool are keeping close tabs.
Karim Adeyemi to make Premier League move?
Chelsea made an offer to Adeyemi as per earlier reports, although any deal for the forward on deadline day seems unrealistic. The Blues are constantly looking out for top young talents to grace their squad, as the Bundesliga attacker is certainly one on their list. For now, Borussia Dortmund will be relieved to know he has rejected Napoli and would be happy to keep the attacker for the remainder of the campaign.
Liverpool have tracked Adeyemi’s situation, although they are not in a rush to bring the attacker to Anfield, at least not on deadline day. The Merseysiders are currently sweating over the future of Mohamed Salah, and on paper, a player like Adeyemi will be seen as a viable replacement for the Egyptian. This interest could have legs, as the summer window would tell a story as to where the player moves.
