Marcus Rashford has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa as the Manchester United misfit nears an exit from Old Trafford.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa and Marcus Rashford have an agreement on personal terms ahead of a potential loan move. Manchester United are yet to decide on the final agreement with Unai Emery’s side, as they are open to letting the homegrown star leave on a temporary basis.
The Marcus Rashford saga went awfully quiet in the middle of the transfer window, although things look back on track for the 27-year-old winger. The Manchester United misfit made it public knowledge of his desire to leave the club back in December and has not played for the club since.
There have been a lot of clubs monitoring his situation, with Juventus one of those keen. The big interest came from Barcelona, but they have since cooled their interest following FFP concerns with a move for Rashford, as the Catalans are embroiled in financial problems.
In recent days, Aston Villa have been making a big push for Rashford to take him on loan until the end of the season. While this deal has taken it’s time to get the consensus, it appears Rashford is open to the idea as he has agreed on personal terms with Villa over a loan move.
Aston Villa are now advancing in talks with Manchester United over the details of the loan move, while Fabrizio Romano insists they are also discussing a buy option. The latter update signals a potential intention from Villa to make the move permanent later on, which explains the need to agree on personal terms, as a loan deal generally does not involve a change in salary unless necessary.
Aston Villa keen to finish the window stronger
Aston Villa made a bold decision to sell John Duran to Al-Nassr a few days ago and is now under pressure from Arsenal for Ollie Watkins. While they are leaning towards keeping the England international, Emery’s side isis also keen on Marco Asensio to replace the departed Colombian striker.
They are also keen to add to their defence, with Axel Disasi being linked, and along with Rashford, Aston Villa are angling for a strong finish to the transfer window to bring parity following the Duran exit. As for Rashford, he’s attracted by the prospect of Champions League football, although it’s widely speculated that Aston Villa may have been his preferred choice.
