AC Milan eager to seal Joao Felix deal this weekend

AC Milan are making a strong push to sign Chelsea’s summer acquisition, Joao Felix, on a loan deal with an option to buy.

AC Milan are keen on reinforcing their attack before the end of the winter transfer window and they are looking to sign Chelsea’s Joao Felix before the deadline. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Italian giants are pushing hard to get a deal over the line this weekend.

Felix’s big-money move to Atletico didn’t go according to plan and he had spent the last two seasons out on loan at Chelsea and Barcelona. While the Catalan giants were keen on a permanent transfer, they decided against it because of financial reasons. Eventually, the Blues made a move and secured his services ahead of the ongoing season.

The move to Stamford Bridge hasn’t really worked out for the Portuguese international. While he has nine goal contributions in his 20 outings, the 25-year-old has racked up less than 1,000 minutes of first-team action. He is not really an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans and the Blues are ready to sanction his departure just six months after signing him.

Initially, they were only interested in a permanent deal which complicate things for interested clubs. But, with Chelsea now willing to listen to loan offers with a buy obligation, there is a high possibility of Felix switching clubs in the final days of the window.

AC Milan closing in on Felix’s signature

AC Milan could be a potential destination for the young forward who can feature anywhere in attack. The Italian giants seek more firepower and their manager Sergio Conceicao is believed to be a huge admirer of the Portuguese compatriot. He wants to work with him at San Siro and is pushing people at the club to sign him.

Both the manager and the payer are represented by Jorge Mendes which is another added advantage for Milan in their pursuit. The Italian club have made it quite clear that they will only go ahead with the move on their terms.

They want to get a deal over the line this weekend and are exclusively looking for a loan deal. They do not want any obligation clause but if they don’t have any other options, Milan will be open to having a buy option worth €40 million. Milan are ready to pay a part of his wages until the end of the season and would want Chelsea to subsidise them.
