FC Porto set to submit €10-15 million bid to sign Stefan Bajcetic

Portuguese giants FC Porto are reportedly set to submit an offer worth €10-15 million to sign 20-year-old Liverpool whizkid Stefan Bajcetic, who will likely join UD Las Palmas.

According to a report by Ekrem Konur, Stefan Bajcetic is the subject of interest from FC Porto. The Portuguese giants will soon lodge a bid worth €10-15 million to sign the Liverpool whizkid, who has struggled to make his mark at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the 2024/25 season.

However, an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Spaniard will likely return to his homeland by joining La Liga club UD Las Palmas on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season. However, the impending agreement will not hand Los Amarillos a purchase option, with Liverpool not ready to part ways with him on a permanent deal anytime soon.

Stefan Bajcetic and his nascent career so far

Stefan Bajcetic has had to bide his time since joining Liverpool from Celta Vigo in July 2021. A native of Vigo, the youngster with Serbian origins has chosen to represent Spain in age-group football. The 20-year-old spent most of his formative years in Vigo but graduated from the famed youth division at Liverpool FC.

While the Spanish midfielder has been impressive in his cameos for Liverpool’s first team, the Reds wanted him to garner more experience and sent him on loan to Red Bull Salzburg. However, the move has not worked, with the youngster not even managing 1,000 minutes of game time across 19 appearances in all competitions thus far.

What next?

Stefan Bajcetic is returning from Red Bull Salzburg, with Liverpool ready to ship him out on another loan spell for the second half of the 2024/25 season. Recent reports have linked the highly-rated midfielder with several La Liga clubs, including Real Betis. However, Ekrem Konur suggested that FC Porto wanted to play spoilsport.

According to the Turkish journalist, the Portuguese giants are keen on signing the Liverpool prospect on a permanent deal by submitting a bid worth €10-15 million. However, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that a move to La Liga is on the cards, with UD Las Palmas closing in on signing the Spaniard.

The reputed Italian journalist has claimed that the Spanish outfit will sign the 20-year-old Spanish midfield prospect on a “dry loan” deal. Bajcetic will return to Liverpool in June, with Las Palmas not having a purchase option in the impending agreement.
