Manchester United rival Chelsea, Liverpool in Aurelien Tchouameni chase

A host of Premier League sides are on alert to the possibility of Aurelien Tchouameni leaving Real Madrid in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are on high alert to the possibility of Aurelien Tchouameni leaving Real Madrid next summer. The French midfielder has not been convincing enough for the Spanish side, as they could seek a change in his position, thus opening the doors for a sale to one of the top Premier League sides.

Aurelien Tchouameni arrived at Real Madrid with plenty of promise to become a long-term solution at the club. Instead, he has not found his feet despite Carlo Ancelotti appreciating his versatility to play different roles when needed.

Real Madrid are now thinking about making a change as they seek a midfielder that can give them absolute control like Toni Kroos used to. Tchouameni has failed in that aspect, and while he’s been predominantly used as a centre-back, his versatility will have no bearing on the club’s decision over his future.

Real Madrid are already eyeing Tijjani Reijnders as a possible replacement for the 24-year-old midfielder, meaning they will be open to a big sale next summer. There are many teams in England keeping close tabs on the Frenchman’s situation, including Manchester United.

Manchester United could part ways with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, with Tchouameni widely seen as a long-term replacement for the latter. The Red Devils will be in a good financial position next season to make such a move, although they will face big competition from domestic rivals like Liverpool and Chelsea for the 24-year-old Real Madrid star.

Liverpool and Chelsea in Tchouameni chase

Liverpool had thought about signing Tchouameni in January, but such a move may not be possible this month. As they failed to sign a midfielder last summer, many had expected the Merseysiders to move for one in January, but they might have to wait until the summer to land someone like the 24-year-old Real Madrid star.

Chelsea are also in the mix, as they are a team constantly evolving and making great use of the transfer market. The Blues are in a solid position to pay what’s necessary to sign a player like Tchouameni, which could give them a slight advantage in prising him away, particularly if they qualify for next season’s Champions League, something Manchester United are finding it difficult to do at this moment.
