Liverpool and Man City need midfielders

The Spanish international would be the ideal acquisition. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in England and he could be a key player for Liverpool.
Similarly, Manchester City need quality alternatives to Rodri. Players like Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes have been quite underwhelming and the Premier League champions need better players at their disposal if they want to compete for major trophies regularly. They have been quite mediocre this season and they are likely to miss out on the lead title. The absence of a quality central midfielder has hurt them dearly.
With that said Manchester City are unlikely to move for him in January.
