Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Dani Olmo as he is ready to move to the Premier League.
Dani Olmo’s future has become a massive talking point as Barcelona are yet to register him for the second half of the season. The Spanish international could be on the move in January if the Catalan giants do not find a solution in the coming days.
According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all keen on his signature, and they have been kept informed about his situation at the Spanish club. While he does not seem keen on a permanent departure, Olmo is open to a temporary loan move to the Premier League.
On the back of his impressive performances at RB Leipzig, the 26-year-old attacking midfielder made the move to Barcelona last summer. While the Catalan giants managed to strike a deal worth £51 million, they were struggling to register him as they could not meet La Liga’s wage cap restrictions.
Eventually, they reached a temporary agreement and managed to register Dani Olmo until the end of 2024 because of the number of injuries in their squad. With the deadline closing in, Hansi Flick’s team application to register Olmo fully has been turned down.
Their appeal for the precautionary registration for the remainder of the campaign has also been rejected by Commercial Court No. 10. Barcelona have until 31st December to get registered or else he won’t be able to play for them in 2025.
Barcelona have already lodged another appeal which is due to be heard on Monday. While they are pushing hard, there are chances of things not going their way. If he remains unregistered, Dani Olmo can trigger his release and leave for free.
A loan move to the Premier League
Dani Olmo is not keen on parting ways with the Blaugrana. However, if Barcelona fail to register him, he will be open to a temporary spell in England, where some of the biggest clubs seem keen on his signature. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United who wanted to sign him in the summer remain interested in his services.
The Gunners have already confirmed that they would be open to a loan deal. He could be that x-factor player who helps them return to their best as they have struggled in the final third of the pitch.
The Blues already have a lot of quality in the final third of the pitch, and any deal will only make sense if any of their star ends up leaving. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim would love to have such a versatile player in his team amidst uncertainty around the future of Marcus Rashford.
