Everton will reportedly look to sign 29-year-old German international Tim Kleindienst from Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach next year.
According to a report by German outlet BILD, Tim Kleindienst is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are scouring the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. So, the Borussia Dortmund forward has emerged as a target, with the Merseyside outfit approaching the Bundesliga club to enquire about the German international.
Who is Tim Kleindienst?
Tim Kleindienst has been one of the most underrated attackers in the Bundesliga in recent seasons. A native of Juterbog, he spent his formative years in Germany, starting his youth career in his hometown before graduating from the youth division at FC Energie Cottbus.
However, the 29-year-old had to bide his time before landing on his feet, with the last few seasons helping him rise in prominence. Kleindienst was solid in the 2023/24 season with FC Heidenheim and has been exceptional thus far this term since joining Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window.
The German international has contributed to 15 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net nine times and providing six assists. Meanwhile, Kleindienst’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Everton.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Everton’s interest in Tim Kleindienst is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a new striker heading into the January transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto. Recent reports have linked both Everton attackers with moves away from Goodison Park.
While Calvert-Lewin has entered the final seven months of his Everton contract, Beto is unhappy with his situation. So, several strikers, including Georges Mikautadze, have emerged on Everton’s radar. However, Kleindienst is also a viable target, with Everton approaching Borussia Monchengladbach to enquire about the player’s situation.
Meanwhile, Everton will face stiff competition from fellow Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 29-year-old German international. However, it is unclear if Gladbach will agree to part ways with the summer arrival, considering they are only three points behind third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga standings.
