Napoli set to demand big money to sell Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January

Chelsea and Manchester City will have to fork out a massive fee if they want to sign Napoli ace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia mid-season.

According to a report from Football Insider, Napoli will demand a significant fee to part ways with their attacking sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the upcoming transfer window amidst interest from Manchester City as well as Chelsea.

Kvaratskhelia has only gone from strength to strength since joining Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022. The 23-year-old winger has established himself as one of the best young forwards in the world.

In the ongoing season, he has five goals and three assists in his 15 league outings. While he has produced better numbers in the past, there is no doubt about his quality and the kind of impact he can have on the pitch. His consistency has put him on the radar of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Blues are constantly looking to sign the best young players, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be a great addition to their squad that is already home to some exciting stars. While the West London club have been monitoring him, they are not the only English clubs who are keen on his signature as Manchester City are also plotting a move for the Georgian international.

Manchester City want to sign Kvararatskhelia in January

Pep Guardiola’s team are going through their worst run under the Spanish manager. They have only won one out of their last 11 games and are expected to make quite a few additions to their squad in the winter to help the former Barcelona boss turn things around.

Manchester City are willing to make significant investments into the squad, and a winger seems to be a priority for them at this stage, with Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Savinho not performing at the expected levels. The City recruitment team have been keeping a close eye on Khvicha Kvararatskhelia, and he has emerged as their top target.

While the Premier League champions do have the finances to lure him, they will have to fork out a massive fee to convince Napoli about a potential sale in January. The Serie A outfit will do everything in their power to keep hold of their star forward after losing Victor Osimhen to a loan move in the summer. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Manchester City can actually strike a deal for the 23-year-old next month.
