Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly ready to intensify their efforts to sign 21-year-old Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez, a target for Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Milos Kerkez is the subject of interest from Liverpool. Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen on signing the Bournemouth wide player. Meanwhile, the Cherries want around £40 million to part ways with the 21-year-old full-back, with the Merseyside giants ready to ramp up their efforts to secure his services next year.
Milos Kerkez and his soaring star
Milos Kerkez has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023. The Serbia-born full-back enjoyed a solid debut season with the Premier League club and has gone from strength to strength with each passing month.
The 21-year-old has turned out nearly 50 times thus far for Bournemouth while chipping in with one goal and three assists. Meanwhile, Kerkez’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across the Premier League. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are among the youngster’s prospective suitors.
A man in demand
Arsenal recently joined the race to sign the Hungarian international from Bournemouth. While Mikel Arteta has preferred a versatile defender in the two full-back spots, a recognised left-back can be a solid addition to the Arsenal squad. In addition, the Gunners should have the funds to afford Bournemouth’s asking price of £40 million.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Milos Kerkez is understandable. While Marc Cucurella has become the first-choice left-back under Enzo Maresca’s tutelage, Ben Chilwell will leave the West London club next year. So, the Bournemouth full-back is an option worth considering for Chelsea. The Blues also have the funds to afford a deal worth £40 million for Kerkez.
As for Liverpool, Andrew Robertson is on the wrong side of 30 and has been inconsistent in the last 12 months. In addition, Kostas Tsimikas faces an uncertain future at Anfield. So, Kerkez is a viable target for Liverpool, with the Reds ready to step up their interest in the Serbia-born Bournemouth star.
Bournemouth’s asking price of £40 million should not be a problem for Liverpool. So, it will be interesting to see if the Merseyside outfit can beat Arsenal and Chelsea to the signature of the 21-year-old Hungarian international.
