Patrick Dorgu has been linked with a move away Serie A club Lecce, and multiple Premier League clubs are looking to sign him.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, West Ham United will compete with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign 20-year-old Denmark international Patrick Dorgu from Serie A club US Lecce.
The 20-year-old can operate as a left-back as well as a left winger. He could prove to be a quality addition for West Ham if they can get the deal done. The young defender could prove to be a major upgrade on players like Emerson Palmieri.
West Ham have already put together a quality squad, and it seems that they are looking to improve further. The Hammers have had a disappointing season so far, and they will have to improve in the coming weeks and finish the season strongly if they want to attract top-quality talents.
Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Tottenham keen on Dorgu
Chelsea are keen on the 20-year-old as well, and he would be the ideal long-term replacement for Ben Chilwell. The England international has been linked with an exit from Chelsea, and they will need to replace him adequately. Signing Patrick Dorgu would be a solid investment for them. He could develop into a key player for the club with the right guidance.
Similarly, Crystal Palace are in need of quality additions as well. Signing one of the best young players in European football would be a masterstroke from them, and it remains to be seen whether the Eagles can get the deal done.
They could have an advantage over the other Premier League clubs because they might be able to offer him regular game time. At a big club, regular game time might be hard to come by. Dorgu needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and he will have to choose his next destination carefully.
Tottenham defender Ben Davies will be a free agent in the summer and they need to replace him. The 20-year-old seems like the ideal fit, and it will be interesting to see if they can secure his signature in the coming months.
