Arsenal set to run rule over Viktor Gyokeres in Sporting CP vs Manchester City

Arsenal are keen on signing the Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.

According to a report from Give Me Sport, they will scout the 26-year-old striker in action against Manchester City. The likes of Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on the player as well.

The Portuguese club will take on Manchester City in the Champions League next month and Arsenal will run the rule over him.

The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world and it is no surprise that Arsenal are keen on him. They need to find a quality alternative to Gabriel Jesus who has not been able to find the back of the net consistently.

Meanwhile, Gyokeres has contributed towards 17 goals and assists in 13 appearances across all competitions this season. He could transform Arsenal in the final third and help them win major trophies.

Arsenal have put together a formidable squad and they have been pushing for the league title. However, they have not been able to get over the line in the end. Gyokeres could be the final piece of the puzzle for them and he could help them overtake Manchester City.

Chelsea and Liverpool keen on Viktor Gyokeres

Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to sign a quality striker as well.  It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the 26-year-old in the coming months. He could prove to be a solid acquisition for them and an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson.

Liverpool could use a reliable goalscorer like him as well. Darwin Nunez has not been able to score goals consistently and Diogo Jota is prone to injuries. The Swedish international could be a quality acquisition for Liverpool and he could also replace Mohamed Salah’s goal-scoring output if the Egyptian decides to move on next summer.

The striker is likely to be an expensive acquisition and it remains to be seen which of the three Premier League clubs come forward with an offer to sign him. A move to England will be an exciting opportunity for him and the former Coventry City star will look to prove himself in English football and win major trophies with a big club.
