Real Madrid rival Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City in Ederson chase

Real Madrid are ready to rival Premier League heavyweights in the chase for Atalanta star Ederson, with the midfielder high in demand.

According to Defensa Central, Atalanta’s in-demand midfielder Ederson has continued to garner big interest from top clubs. Real Madrid are the latest to show an interest, as they are eager to bring him as a long-term successor to Toni Kroos, while Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City are also chasing the midfielder.

Ederson has been an immense presence for Atalanta over the last 18 months, and he has started the new season brilliantly. The Brazilian international is in big demand in the market, as several Premier League heavyweights are angling for a move in the near future.

Real Madrid are in the mix for the midfielder, as Florentino Perez feels the need to replace Toni Kroos after his retirement at the end of last season. Atalanta will demand over €50 million for the midfielder, and that is not a problem for the majority of the clubs in the mix.

Real Madrid are more worried about the English clubs chasing the €50 million-rated Brazilian international, with Ederson himself open to a Premier League move. The Spanish giants are eager to put in the work to land the Atalanta star, either in January or next summer, and are ready to rival their English counterparts for his signature.

Premier League or La Liga for Ederson?

Arsenal will continue to look into the market for a new midfielder as one of Thomas Partey or Jorginho will depart next summer. They are keeping tabs on Ederson alongside other targets, and Atalanta’s price point might seem favourable for the Gunners.

Liverpool are also in the mix, as they are reportedly angling a move for his Atalanta teammate Ademola Lookman. However, their primary need is for a central midfielder who has versatile qualities to affect both boxes, and the €50 million-rated Brazilian international makes sense for their needs.

Manchester City might be Real Madrid’s biggest threat in the pursuit of Ederson. Pep Guardiola is looking at the Brazilian as a replacement for Rodri, who will miss the remainder of the season. Hence, Manchester City might make a move as early as January, while the others are only angling for a transfer next summer, which could play a big role in the chase for the midfielder.
