Liverpool are ready to table €100 million to beat Manchester City, Newcastle and Tottenham to Ederson and Ademola Lookman’s signature.
According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool are looking to raid Atalanta for the services of Ademola Lookman and Ederson. The Reds are looking to make a huge investment of €100 million to bring the duo to Anfield amidst interest in their services from rivals Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle United.
The Merseyside club didn’t do much in the recently concluded transfer window. Despite not being able to secure their top targets, the Reds have made an impressive start under Arne Slot. But, the Dutch manager seems to have identified areas that need more quality and they have started to plan for the next summer.
Liverpool are interested in Ederson and Lookman
After failing to secure the services of Martin Zubimendi during the summer, Liverpool are now looking at Ederson as an ideal alternative. The 25-year-old Brazilian is capable enough to feature as a number six as well as an eight and the Reds feel he could be an ideal fit for Slot’s system.
While Ryan Gravenberch has done well in the defensive midfield role, the Merseyside club want someone who can compete with him for a place in the starting XI and Ederson can surely help their cause. Their representatives were in the stands to watch the Brazilian international in action in their recent victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
They also had their eyes on Ademola Lookman who has been in exceptional form of late. The 26-year-old Nigerian international has made an exceptional start to the new season and the Reds believe his ability to feature anywhere in the attack could significantly bolster their attack.
Liverpool to face competition for the Atalanta duo
He contributed towards two goals in their win over Shakhtar and it seems to have left a mark on the Liverpool scouts. Apart from the Reds, the duo are also on the wishlist of Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle.
The North London club seek more depth in midfield having parted ways with quite a few of their stars during the summer. City see Ederson as an ideal cover for the injured Rodri while the Magpies seek more depth and quality in the centre of the park.
While City, Tottenham and Newcastle all have quality options up top, they are always on the lookout for players who can further strengthen their squad. They feel Lookman could add something different to their attack. With multiple top clubs keen on signing the Atalanta duo, the Reds are looking to push ahead with a massive €100 million offer.
