Victor Boniface not in talks with Chelsea, Tottenham over 2025 moves yet

Victor Boniface and his entourage are yet to open talks with Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur over a possible move next year.

According to a report by All Nigeria Soccer, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are yet to initiate talks with the representatives of Victor Boniface over a possible move in the 2025 summer transfer window. The publication has not denied the links but has insisted that discussions over a move to the Premier League have not taken place.

Victor Boniface and his long journey in a short career so far

Victor Boniface has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise last year. A native of Akure, the African striker spent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at Real Sapphire.

Since turning professional, the 23-year-old has represented clubs in Cyprus, Norway, Belgium, and Germany. Boniface hit the ground running at Bayer Leverkusen last season before a long-term injury scuppered his progress. However, the player has made his mark in the early days of the new campaign.

The Nigerian international has four goals and one assist in six appearances in all competitions thus far in the 2024/25 season. Meanwhile, Victor Boniface’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

London calling?

Chelsea’s interest in Victor Boniface is understandable. The West London club failed to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window, with Marc Guiu the only striker to arrive at Stamford Bridge. While Nicolas Jackson has done well in the early days of the 2024/25 season, Boniface is a viable target for Chelsea.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, the North London club signed Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window. So, it is unclear how Boniface fits into the scheme of things unless Ange Postecoglou wants to rotate his strikers heavily. However, Chelsea and Tottenham have not been in talks with Boniface’s agents over a possible move for next year.

With the report not denying the links between Boniface and the two Premier League clubs, a move to the Premier League might still be on the cards. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea and Tottenham launch the offensive to secure the 23-year-old Nigerian striker’s services next year.
