Galatasaray are planning a late move for Chelsea outcast Carney Chukwuemeka as the Turkish transfer window approaches its deadline.
Galatasaray are looking to further reinforce their squad before the end of the Turkish transfer window on Friday. While they have significantly bolstered their attack by signing Victor Osimhen, they are now looking to add more quality to their midfield. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Turkish giants are keen on signing Carney Chukwuemeka and are plotting a last-minute bid for the Chelsea outcast.
Chukwuemeka came up the ranks at Aston Villa. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2021. On the back of his impressive rise and his performances with the first team, the Blues signed him in the summer of 2022.
While the 20-year-old English midfielder is quite highly rated, he has not been able to establish himself in the Blues’ first-team. The Englishman has only had limited opportunities so far, and the arrival of Enzo Maresca has seen him go further down the pecking order.
Carney Chukwuemeka still has four years left on his deal, but the London club are open to letting him leave the club. He is yet to feature in any of their matchday squads so far, which makes it quite clear that he is not in their plans. While the youngster was linked with a deadline-day move to Manchester United, things did not go according to plan.
Galatasaray ready to offer Chukwuemeka a way out
Erik ten Hag’s team were looking to add more depth to their squad, and they were confident about him turning things around with a move away from Stamford Bridge. While he might have failed to secure a move to Manchester United on the deadline day, the 20-year-old Chelsea outcast now has an opportunity to join Galatasaray.
The 2023/24 Turkish champions have been closely monitoring the Premier League in search of an opportunity to reinforce their midfield and feel Chukwuemeka could be a great addition to their squad. The English youth international is capable enough to feature in different positions which could be a massive boost for them.
While the Blues are ready to sanction his departure, Galatasaray have quite a difficult task at hand as they need to convince the youngster about a move to Turkiye. They have already struggled to land Jorginho and Casemiro.
