Manchester City will reportedly face stiff competition from Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid for 21-year-old Bayern Munich whizkid Jamal Musiala next year.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Jamal Musiala is the subject of interest from Manchester City. However, the 21-year-old Bayern Munich whizkid also has several other prospective suitors, with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid keen on signing him next year.
The rise and rise of Jamal Musiala
Jamal Musiala has established himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga since breaking into the first-team squad at Bayern Munich. A native of Stuttgart, he spent his formative years in Germany and England while representing well-known clubs like Southampton, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.
However, the 21-year-old has not looked back since establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at Bayern Munich in the last few seasons. Musiala has turned out 166 times thus far for the Bavarian giants while chipping in with 44 goals and 31 assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
A man in demand
Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have closely monitored Jamal Musiala’s progress at Bayern Munich for a long time. Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that the German international considers Manchester City an attractive destination, although Barcelona and Real Madrid also have the allure to tempt the young prospect.
Manchester City can do with a player like Jamal Musiala amid the advancing years of Kevin De Bruyne. As for Barcelona, they can have a solution across the frontline if they land the young attacker from Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s interest in the player is understandable, considering Luka Modric is in the twilight of his glittering career.
Arsenal can also do with a player of Musiala’s qualities, with the 21-year-old capable of playing on the flanks and the central areas equally adeptly. So, the Bayern Munich academy graduate is a viable target for Arsenal.
However, Bayern Munich will battle hard to keep hold of the German international for the long haul, with contract talks likely to begin soon. So, it will be interesting to see if any European bigwig can lure Musiala to leave the Bundesliga heavyweights next year.
