Bayern Munich prioritises a contract renewal for Jamal Musiala ahead of the coming period as interest continues to mount in the attacker.
According to Fabrizio Romano on Caught Offside, Bayern Munich are pushing to get Jamal Musiala to renew his contract at the club. The Bavarians are aware of the growing interest in the 21-year-old Bundesliga attacker and want to avoid losing him at all costs next summer.
Bayern Munich keen to retain Jamal Musiala
Bayern Munich could be entering a pivotal summer window next year when Jamal Musiala enters the final year of his deal. The 21-year-old Bundesliga attacker has been in scintillating form over the past few seasons, making him one of the most exciting young stars on the planet.
Musiala attracted plenty of interest in the summer, as Bayern Munich made it clear he was not for sale. However, things will be different next year, as clubs could have a real agenda to push for a move and even sign him on a cut-price move.
Bayern Munich knows the massive clubs chasing Musiala, including Real Madrid and Manchester City. Depending on their financial power and the project they offer the player, many more could join the equation. Hence, the Bavarians do not want to waste any more time and want to get a renewal in place.
Bayern Munich have been pushing to renew Musiala’s contract for months, as per Fabrizio Romano, who insists the club could offer him a significant proposal. The Italian transfer expert also emphasised that a renewal will be complex and depend on how the club talks with the 21-year-old Bundesliga attacker.
Romano said, “Bayern have been pushing for months to extend Musiala’s contract, and this remains one of their main missions. Bayern will insist again with a big proposal; he’s on the list of all the top European clubs. This is very normal, but it all depends on what happens with Bayern in talks.”
Musiala renewal is not suitable for Manchester City
Manchester City and other clubs, including Real Madrid, are interested in Musiala. Pep Guardiola and club officials identified the 21-year-old Bundesliga attacker as the ideal replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will eventually leave the team soon.
Musiala might be reportedly open to Manchester City, although he might be willing to open talks with Bayern before making a decision on his future. Should the German international renew with his current side, it would be a big blow for Man City and their primary plan to replace De Bruyne for the long term.
