Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq have an agreement in place with Chelsea for the services of their academy graduate Harvey Vale.
According to a report from The Athletic, Chelsea have agreed an undisclosed fee with Al-Ettifaq for the transfer of their academy star Harvey Vale. While the Blues are ready to sanction his departure, the player is yet to give the move a green light.
Vale has been at Chelsea since 2016. He came up the ranks at some pace and was considered a huge prospect for the future. But, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder does not seem to be a part of their plans moving ahead.
Havey Vale’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in 12 months and following his loan spells at Hull City and Bristol Rovers, the Blues have decided to sanction his departure. While Vale has not been promoted to the Chelsea first team yet, he has featured in a total of five matches for the senior team.
Despite his impressive loan spells away from home, the Blues are not convinced about him being an important part of their plans moving ahead. As a result, they want to cash in on their academy graduate as it will help them balance their books.
Al-Ettifaq pushing for Harvey Vale’s services
With Chelsea, who have been in offloading mode of late, ready to sell, Al-Ettifaq have emerged as a potential destination. The Saudi Pro League outfit were already in talks with the West London club and have struck a deal with them for the services of the English youth international.
The Steven Gerrard-led team already have a few stars in their ranks, and they want to add more quality to it before the end of the transfer window. They have agreed terms with the Blues and have offered Vale a much bigger salary than what he earns at Stamford Bridge. But, the youngster seems in no hurry to make a decision regarding his future.
The 20-year-old whose contract runs out in 12 months is also on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs from across Europe. While joining Al-Ettifaq will give him the opportunity to work under Gerrard, he will have to move far away from his family at quite a young age. More importantly, leaving Europe at this age might not be the best decision for his career.
