Raheem Sterling considering his options following Manchester City snub

Chelsea vs FC Noah: Preview and Prediction.

Raheem Sterling is considering his options after being left out of Chelsea’s squad for their opening Premier League fixture against Manchester City.

According to a report from HITC, Raheem Sterling could end up leaving Chelsea before the end of the transfer deadline. The former Liverpool winger doesn’t seem to be a part of the Blues’ long-term plans and they are ready to negotiate his departure.

Sterling came up the ranks at the Merseyside club. He made a name for himself while playing for their first team before making the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2015. After a seven-long spell at City, he made the move to Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

The English international hasn’t done much wrong since joining the Blues. He has done a decent job over the last two seasons but things don’t really look that bright for him going forward. While he was involved in all of their pre-season friendly matches, he was left out of Enzo Maresca’s squad for the season opener against his former club City.

Sterling considering his options

First time in 12 years, he wasn’t involved in the opening day of the season. While Sterling’s agents recently talked about how is fully committed to their future and is all set to continue at the club, things don’t look that great. The 29-year-old might not be a part of their long-term plans and he is frustrated as well as shocked by the recent events. As a result, the player has started to consider his options.

There is interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League as well as the Major League Soccer but the player is determined to continue in Europe. But, with three years left on his deal, his departure won’t be that straightforward.

Very few clubs would be willing to make a significant investment for a 29-year-old who might already be past his prime. European clubs could look for a loan move to make it more affordable and the Blues could actually end up paying a part of his wages. With his place in the team no longer certain, the player could be open to a loan spell.
