Atletico Madrid are ready to table an offer worth €60 million to sign Manchester City star Julian Alvarez, with Chelsea not in the picture.

According to Gastón Edul, Atletico Madrid are ready to submit a massive €60 million to acquire the services of Argentine World Cup winner Julian Alvarez. They are pushing hard to acquire his services from Manchester City and have received a boost as Chelsea are not working on a deal to sign him.

Alvarez came up the ranks at River Plate and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Manchester City. He has been a part of Pep Guardiola’s team for the last two seasons and has done an exceptional job every time he has an opportunity.

Alvarez keen on leaving Manchester City

In his 103 outings, the 24-year-old striker has scored 36 goals and also has 18 assists to his name. While he has been involved in quite a few games, he has only had limited game time and has often played out of position. With Erling Haaland around, Julian Alvarez is unlikely to be their preferred choice up top anytime soon.

As a result, there has been a lot of talk about his future, and there are high chances of him being on the move this summer. While he still has four years left on his deal, multiple top clubs are willing to prise him away from City.

Chelsea are one of the clubs who have been linked with the Argentine striker. While the Blues do need a new number nine, they are not working on a deal to sign Julian Alvarez. The London club have other targets to focus on.

Atletico Madrid to submit €60 million offer

With the Blues out of the picture, Atletico Madrid do have a boost in their pursuit. Diego Simeone is keen on adding more firepower to his attack. With Alvaro Morata leaving the club to join AC Milan and Joao Felix’s departure almost certain, they feel Alvarez is the perfect signing for the short as well as the long run.

They are advancing with a move for the 24-year-old and are all set to submit a formal offer worth €60 million. Paris Saint-Germain are also a part of the race, and they have already put forward a better offer for the club as well as the player. But, Atletico Madrid still hold an advantage because of the city of Madrid.
