Manchester City are an overwhelming favourite to land West Ham youngster Xavier Parker amid interest from other rivals.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are the favourites to land Xavier Parker from West Ham’s academy this summer. The Cityzens are relentless in their academy transfer game and could land one of the Hammers’ most exciting English prodigies this summer.
Manchester City to land Xavier Parker
Some of the top Premier League clubs have placed extra emphasis on their academy-level signings, with Manchester City leading the way. The Cityzens have been exceptional operators on that front, with the level of profits from selling academy-level players to top sides.
Last summer alone, they made a profit of over 70 million, although a chunk of that was due to the big sale of Cole Palmer to Chelsea. Either way, Manchester City are showing relentless form in the academy game, with some more names likely to walk through the door.
Manchester City has made it a point to identify some of the brightest prospects from academies around the world and has a particular emphasis on British talents. Hence, they are more focused on the domestic rise in talents, as they are about to raid West Ham’s academy next for one of their talents, Xavier Parker.
The youngster only made the breakthrough into the U-18s side last season, although this time around, he was expected to have more minutes. Now, that could be accomplished at Manchester City, as the club is now the clear front-runner to land him from the Hammers while beating a host of Premier League rivals along the way.
Manchester City are keen on other academy talents
Manchester City is keen on bringing in some of the best academy talents from around the world and has already got very close to signing Harrison Miles from Southampton. They have Arsenal for company in the chase of the Saints starlet, but they remain the overwhelming favourites to land him.
Similarly, there are other targets on their list, with the club likely to use its vast network to negotiate several deals. For now, they will focus on signing West Ham star Parker and integrating him into their youth squads, most likely the U-18s or something similar.
