Real Madrid eyeing Yann Bisseck as Leny Yoro alternative

La Liga champions Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on 23-year-old Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck as an alternative to Leny Yoro.

According to a report by German outlet Sport Bild, Yann Bisseck is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions have been scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window, with Leny Yoro their priority target. However, they are keeping their options open, with the 23-year-old Inter Milan defender emerging as an alternative.

Who is Yann Bisseck?

Yann Bisseck has made considerable progress since joining Inter Milan from Aarhus GF last summer. A native of Cologne, he began his youth career at SV Adler Dellbrück but spent most of his formative years with FC Koln before graduating from the academy at the German club.

However, the 23-year-old struggled to find a stable footing in his career until the 2023/24 season. Bisseck embarked on four loan spells away from FC Koln before joining Aarhus GF in a permanent deal nearly two years ago. But the move to Inter Milan should set the youngster up for a bright future.

While Bisseck was not the undisputed first-choice starter for Inter Milan last season, he was impressive in his 21 outings and chipped in with two goals and two assists, playing his part in the Serie A title triumph. Meanwhile, the German defender’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid move on the cards?

Real Madrid’s interest in Yann Bisseck is understandable. The reigning La Liga champions have been scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window after losing Nacho as a free agent. In addition, Rafa Marin will soon join Napoli, while David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are on the wrong side of 30.

So, it behoves Real Madrid to invest in a centre-back this summer, with Leny Yoro being the top target. Recent reports have claimed that the 18-year-old Frenchman is closing in on joining Real Madrid. However, the Merengues are keeping their options open and have set their sights on Bisseck.

A move for the 23-year-old Serie A winner will only see the light of day if Yoro does not arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see which centre-back bolsters the Real Madrid backline this year.
