Chelsea, West Ham United lodge offers to sign Wesley Gassova

Chelsea and West Ham United have both tabled an offer for the services of Brazilian attacking sensation Wesley Gassova.

According to a report from Santi Aouna, Chelsea and West Ham United are both keen on signing Wesley Gassova from Corinthians this summer. Both Premier League clubs have already submitted an offer to bring the Brazilian forward to Europe.

Wesley has made quite a name for himself coming up the ranks at Corinthians. He has been monitored by clubs from across Europe on his way up to the first team of the Brazilian club. While he only got promoted to the senior team last summer, the left-winger has already featured in 72 matches for them and even has 12 goal contributions.

While the 19-year-old prefers playing on the left flank, he is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack. Wesley has the pace and the technique to cause panic in the opposition’s defence. He can take on players and make things happen. His exceptional abilities and his huge potential have resulted in a lot of interest over the years.

Chelsea and West Ham submit offers for Wesley

The teenager still has around three years left on his deal with the Brazilian outfit, but there are high chances of him making the move to Europe this summer. There is interest in his services from AS Roma, OGC Nice and other French clubs. But Premier League duo Chelsea and West Ham United have already taken major steps towards signing him.

The Blues have a project that revolves around signing the best young talents from across the globe. While they already have a lot of quality in their ranks, Enzo Maresca’s team are always on the lookout for opportunities to strengthen their squad, and Wesley seems to be an ideal fit for their project.

Chelsea have already submitted their offer to bring him to England. But, they face serious competition from city rivals West Ham United, who have also put forward an offer to secure his services.

The Hammers do not have much quality up top, and people at the club feel he could be an ideal addition to Julen Lopetegui’s squad both for the short as well as the long run. While both clubs have tabled their bids, it will be interesting to how things develop from here as there is significant interest in the teenager’s services.
