Al-Nassr offer lucrative package to Ederson Moraes

Big-spending Saudi giants Al-Nassr have reportedly offered a two-year deal to 30-year-old Manchester City mainstay Ederson Moraes.

According to reputed journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Ederson Moraes is the subject of interest from Al-Nassr. The big-spending Saudi giants have been scouring the market for a goalkeeper heading into the summer transfer window. And they have offered the 30-year-old Manchester City mainstay a two-year deal, with the package being worth €60 million.

The rise and rise of Ederson Moraes

Ederson Moraes has been world-class since joining Manchester City from Benfica in a big-money move in July 2017. The Brazilian international was already a hot property in the market during his spell with the Portuguese giants before the Premier League champions came calling seven years ago.

The 30-year-old has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League in the last seven years, turning out nearly 350 times thus far for Manchester City while keeping 155 clean sheets and conceding 257 goals. However, Ederson’s long-term future at the Etihad is uncertain heading into the summer transfer window.

The experienced goalkeeper has less than two years remaining on his current contract. In addition, the Manchester City mainstay is at an age where he becomes prone to an approach from the big-spending Saudi giants. That is the case this summer, with Al-Nassr keen on signing him in the coming weeks.

The latest marquee signing for the Saudi Pro League?

Al-Nassr’s interest in Ederson Moraes is understandable. The Saudi Pro League giants have been scouring the market for a goalkeeper heading into the summer transfer window as they want a long-term replacement for David Ospina. So, several candidates, including Wojciech Szczesny, have emerged on Al-Nassr’s radar.

However, the move for Szczesny has gone cold in the last few days, with Ederson’s name rising on the wishlist. The big-spending Saudi giants have now offered the Manchester City mainstay a two-year contract, with the package worth €60 million. They will wait for the green light from the Brazilian before approaching Manchester City with an offer.

The Premier League champions are reportedly open to cashing in on the 30-year-old in the summer transfer window for the right price. So, a summer transfer hinges on the experienced goalkeeper approving the package worth €60 million to join Al-Nassr.
