Arsenal have added Milos Kerkez to their list of left-back targets, with Manchester United and Chelsea also keen on the Bournemouth star.
According to HITC, Arsenal are interested in a move for Milos Kerkez this summer, as the Bournemouth star is valued at £40 million. Manchester United and Chelsea have also been interested for some time now, as Mikel Arteta might attempt to convince the Hungarian left-back.
Arsenal in Milos Kerkez tussle
Arsenal have been linked with a move for a new left back ahead of the summer, as Milkel Arteta seeks to add quality depth in the position. Oleksandr Zinchenko might be sold as the Gunners boss looks to install last summer’s signing Jurrien Timber as his starting left-back this upcoming season.
They also have Takehiro Tomiyasu to take charge of the position if needed, while Jakub Kiwior has shown more promise should Arteta choose to deploy him there. However, Arteta views the Japanese star as a backup or rotational option to Ben White on the right. At the same time, the Polish defender is seen more as a deputy to Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence.
Hence, the a need for a new left-back, and they have seen links to Fenerbahce’s Fedri Kadioglu, with reports suggesting Arsenal have made an offer for the Turkish international. However, they are keeping their options open and are now considering a move for Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez, valued at £40 million, is coming at the back of a tremendous season with Bournemouth, whom he joined last summer from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar. A move to Arsenal might entice the Hungarian international, who has been starring at the Euros for his nation and could soon see his name in the thick of the transfer rumour mill.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also keen on Kerkez
Manchester United and Chelsea held an interest from a few months back and could pursue a deal for the £40 million-rated star. The 20-year-old certainly has value to add to either of those sides, but at that rate, neither is going to show massive commitment towards paying up what Bournemouth wants.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are on a different trajectory and a different budget compared to those two clubs. They will try to negotiate the price down to a respectable number, but Bournemouth will likely stick to a number close to that £40 million figure, meaning they are in line to make a big profit on their investment in the 20-year-old.
