Manchester United compete with Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham United for Jonathan David

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Canadian striker Jonathan David from Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille.

According to a report from i News, Manchester United will compete with Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and West Ham United to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David from Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille.

The 24-year-old has been outstanding for the Ligue 1 outfit this past season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions. He is reportedly valued at £25 million, and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can get the deal done.

It is no secret that they need to bring in a quality striker this summer. David has thus emerged as a viable target for the Red Devils. Although Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund last summer, they need more depth in the attack. The Canadian international could share the goalscoring burden with the Denmark international, and he could complete the Manchester United attacking unit as well.

Meanwhile, Tottenham need to bring in a quality striker as well and have set their sights on Jonathan David. The 24-year-old could be the ideal replacement for Harry Kane, who left the club last summer. David has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer in Ligue 1, and he is certainly good enough for the Premier League as well.

Aston Villa and West Ham keen on David as well

Aston Villa have been overly dependent on Ollie Watkins, and they need more depth in their attack, bringing David into the picture. The Villans have secured UEFA Champions League qualification for the next season, and they need a deeper squad to do well in all competitions.

West Ham United are interested in the player as well, and they could certainly use an upgrade on players like Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with Lille in the coming weeks.

The opportunity to join Manchester United will be a more attractive proposition for the £25 million-rated striker, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. The Red Devils are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform to compete for major trophies in the coming seasons.

Manchester United have a quality squad and the resources to bring in top-class players. It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can beat the other Premier League clubs and sign the Canadian international this summer.
