Chelsea have made an approach to sign Liverpool and Manchester United target Michael Olise ahead of next season.
According to a report from HITC, Chelsea are keen on signing Michael Olise. The Blues are looking to steal a march on the competition and have already established contact with Crystal Palace. They are considering offering a part-exchange deal to make things more convenient. Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested in the London-born playmaker.
Olise has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Eagles back in the summer of 2021. While he did struggle with injuries last term, the 22-year-old French winger still had 10 goals and six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances.
He had a sensational end to the season under Oliver Glasner and on the back of his impressive performances, Chelsea have made him their top target for the summer. They wanted to sign him last summer when his release clause was just £35 million. While he did pen a new deal, the Blues still remain keen, and they are willing to battle it out with Manchester United and Liverpool.
Manchester United and Liverpool keen on Olise
The Red Devils are in desperate need to reinforce the right flank, with the futures of Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Antony uncertain. Olise is a part of their wishlist as the new-look recruitment team has been advised to focus on signing young stars with potential.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking to prepare for life without Mohamed Salah amidst uncertainty over his future. Even if he does end up staying for another season, signing Olise could be the ideal move for Liverpool. The Frenchman could be a part of the rotation for now before making the right flank his own.
Chelsea leading the race for Olise?
While Manchester United and Liverpool are keen, Chelsea are looking to get ahead in the race. They have already contacted Crystal Palace regarding a potential transfer. The Eagles consider the 22-year-old to be an integral part of their plans, and their stance on his future is quite clear.
He will continue at Selhurst Park unless an interested club triggers his release clause worth around £60 million. Chelsea have approached the Eagles with the hope that a deal can be struck, and they are looking to include players in an attempt to lower Olise’s price tag.
While it is not certain exactly which players the Blues are ready to offer, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja could be the ones. Crystal Palace could welcome a new number nine to their squad as Glasner looks to build on the impressive start he had towards the end of last season.
