Chelsea looking to prise Wharton away

While he has only been five months since he made the move to Crystal Palace, clubs are already gearing up to prise him away. Chelsea are one of the clubs that are keen on adding him to their ranks. They want to reinforce their squad after a disappointing season last time out.

They want to bring in top talents who fit well in their new manager’s system and help him get his ideas across with ease. The Blues want more quality in their rotation with regards to the midfield and they feel Wharton could do wonders for them both in the short as well as long run.

The 20-year-old will bring a lot of energy into the midfield and he could form a great partnership with the likes of Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo. More importantly, his ability to recover the ball and his distribution would fit well in Marseca’s system.

While they are keen on taking Wharton away from the Eagles, it will require a significant investment and on top of that, they will face stiff competition from rivals for his signature.
