Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur make moves as they look to sign VfB Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich in the summer.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in acquiring the services of Chris Fuhrich. The London clubs have recently made checks on the situation of the VfB Stuttgart star but they are the only ones keen on having him in their squad.
Fuhrich hasn’t looked back since making the move to Stuttgart in the summer of 2021. He has gone from strength to strength over the years and had an exceptional 2023/24 season. He featured in 38 matches across competitions and contributed towards 16 goals (9 goals, 7 assists).
The 26-year-old played a big part in their incredible run in the Bundesliga as they finished second behind champions Bayer Leverkusen. His performances have helped him break into the German national team and he has been named to the final squad for the Euro 2024 on their home soil.
Fuhrich has attracted a lot of attention on the back of his impressive rise. While there are still four years left on his deal at Stuttgart, there is a €26 million release clause in his deal which could lead to his departure. A few clubs from England seem to have already made the first move.
Chelsea and Tottenham make move for Chris Fuhrich
Chelsea and Tottenham are both interested in the German winger’s services. They have already made a check on his situation at Stuttgart as they look to sign him ahead of next season.
The Blues are not happy with the performances of the majority of their forwards and are looking to add more quality. They feel Fuhruch could be a great cost-effective option for them.
Meanwhile, Spurs are always on the lookout for bargain deals and this surely seems to be one. Ange Postecoglou needs more firepower in attack and the Stuttgart forward could be a quality addition to their ranks. He could help take the pressure off Son Heung-min.
While both London clubs are keen on his signature and have initiated a move to bring him to the Premier League, they do not have Champions League football to offer.
The player is keen on playing in the biggest club competition in Europe. He has the opportunity to compete in the UCL with Stuttgart. As a result, it will be interesting to see if he can turn down a move to the English top flight given the financial benefit and the prestige that comes with it.
