Tottenham in advanced talks to sign Youssef En-Nesyri

Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla have reportedly advanced talks over a deal worth €25 million for Youssef En-Nesyri.

According to a report by Radio Sevilla, as relayed by Vamos di Sevilla, Youssef En-Nesyri is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London club and La Liga outfit Sevilla have advanced talks over a deal worth €25 million for the Moroccan international, who wants to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Youssef En-Nesyri and his journey in La Liga

Youssef En-Nesyri has been one of the most dependable strikers in La Liga for nearly half a decade. A graduate of the youth division at Malaga CF, he rose in prominence during his spell with CD Leganes. However, he has taken his career to the next level since joining Sevilla in January 2020.

The 27-year-old has been a pivotal figure for Sevilla in the last four and a half years and was one of the rare standout performers for Los Nervionenses in a forgettable 2023/24 campaign. En-Nesyri amassed 20 goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

However, the Moroccan international might have played his last game for the Andalusian outfit, with an adventure in the Premier League on the cards. Widespread reports have heavily linked En-Nesyri with West Ham United. However, another London club, Tottenham Hotspur, might win the race to sign him.

From La Liga to the Premier League?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri is understandable. The North London club did not replace Harry Kane with a prolific striker last year. So, they want to sign a centre-forward in the summer transfer window, with several candidates emerging on their radar.

En-Nesyri is one of the options on Tottenham’s radar, with the Moroccan international keen on joining the North London club. Meanwhile, talks between Tottenham and Sevilla have advanced, with the two clubs closing in on sealing an agreement over a deal worth €25 million for Youssef En-Nesyri’s services.

With the 27-year-old ready to join Tottenham, a deal worth €25 million should see the light of day in the coming weeks. However, it will be interesting to see if any other club can steal a march on the North London outfit.
