The Portuguese sensation has already made quite a name for himself, and the Red Devils feel he could be a great acquisition for the long run.

Inacio came up the ranks at Sporting CP and has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2020. He is already a mainstay in their first team and has also established himself in the Portuguese national team.

The 22-year-old’s impressive rise at the Portuguese club, and his consistent performances have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Manchester United are one of the clubs who have been monitoring Goncalo Inacio for a while now.

The Red Devils had quite a few problems at the back during the 2023/24 season. Injuries to their key defenders were one of the major reasons for their downfall and they are looking to address the issue in the upcoming window.

Manchester United are keen on signing Inacio

With Raphael Varane leaving and Jonny Evans’s future uncertain, Manchester United are looking to sign multiple defenders in the summer. Goncalo Inacio is one of the names who is quite high on their wishlist, and they have decided to go for his signing regardless of what Erik ten Hag’s future will be.

The Red Devils have already established initial contacts to gain more information regarding a potential transfer to Old Trafford. And, now, they look all set to put forward an offer for him in the coming days.

While they are aware of the fact that the 22-year-old has a €60 million release clause, which is also the asking price set by Sporting CP, they are still looking to negotiate with the Portuguese club in hopes of lowering the fee.

A report from Record has also suggested that Manchester United have made contact and are now all set to make an offer. But, their report suggests that the €60 million clause in Inacio’s deal could be reached with bonuses. United’s interest in the Portuguese international is quite genuine, and this could be a potential transfer to keep an eye on.
