Sporting CP will not sell Goncalo Inacio for less than €60 million

Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio, who will cost €60 million.

Goncalo Inacio has established himself as a key player for Sporting CP, and his performances have attracted the attention of the Premier League giants Liverpool. The Reds are in need of defensive reinforcements, and the Portuguese international would be a quality addition.

Meanwhile, a report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Liverpool will have to pay €60 million to sign the 22-year-old. The defender has a €60 million release clause in his contract. and Sporting CP are unwilling to give any discounts on him despite recent contradictory reports.

Inacio has established himself as one of the finest young defensive talents in European football, and it is no surprise that Sporting CP are holding on to his valuation. The Portuguese international has the potential to develop into a class defender, and he could justify the investment in the near future.

Inacio would be a quality replacement for Joel Matip

Liverpool need to bring in a quality central defender at the end of the season as a replacement for Joel Matip. The Cameroonian defender will be out of contract in the summer, and he has been a key player for Liverpool over the years. They will need to fill his void properly, and signing a talented young player with immense potential should prove to be the right decision.

Apart from his ability to operate as a central defender, Inacio can slot in as a full-back as well. His versatility will be an added bonus for Liverpool. The defender is capable of operating operating in a back four as well as a back three. He will help Liverpool improve defensively, and his distribution skills will help them control the game from the deep and from the back.

Liverpool certainly have the financial resources to pay the reported asking price, and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to go through with the transfer. They will need to improve the other areas of their squad as well. They must prioritise a move for a quality defensive midfielder and reliable goalscorer as well.
