Liverpool, Manchester United submit enquiries for Goncalo Inacio

Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on signing Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio in the summer transfer window.

According to Football Transfers, Liverpool and Manchester United have made enquiries for Goncalo Inacio. The 22-year-old Sporting CP central defender is likely to cost around £51 million in the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese international has a £51 million release clause in his contract, and Sporting CP are unlikely to sanction his departure below that fee. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool and Manchester United are ready to pay up. The defender certainly has the talent and the potential to justify the investment in the coming seasons.

Liverpool need defensive reinforcements, and Inacio could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for them. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Ibrahima Konate are the only reliable central defenders at the club right now.

The Reds must look to invest in a quality central defender this summer. The Portuguese international would be a superb addition. The 22-year-old will be tempted to join a big club like Liverpool, and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League outfit are ready to pay the asking price.

Manchester United need Goncalo Inacio

Manchester United have looked vulnerable at the back this season, and they need a quality addition. Inacio could prove to be an upgrade on players like Jonny Evans. In addition, Raphael Varane could be on the move in the summer transfer window amid his uncertain contract situation.

Manchester United need to bring in a quality central defender, and it remains to be seen whether they are ready to break the bank for the 22-year-old. Inacio would be a quality acquisition for both clubs, and he could improve them defensively. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

The Portuguese defender is versatile enough to operate as a central defender as well as a full-back. He could be an asset for both clubs during rotation and injuries. Apart from his defensive qualities, the young defender is an excellent passer from the deep, and he will help Liverpool and Manchester United build up from the back. With the Red Devils and Liverpool stepping up their interest, a summer move might be on the cards.
