Tottenham are firmly in contention to sign Serhou Guirassy in the summer, as he’s seen as a cost-effective signing for the club.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are keen on bringing Serhou Guirassy in the summer as Ange Postecoglou remains intent on adding a new No.9. The Stuttgart man has been on fire with his club performances, that has propelled the Bundesliga side into the Champions League for next season.
Tottenham keen on Serhou Guirassy?
Serhou Guirassy was largely expected to move clubs during the January window, but Stuttgart may have stiffly resisted suitors as they were eager to hold on to their key performer. The centre-forward has hit the ground running this season and finished the campaign with 30 goals to his name in all competitions.
His displays have propelled Stuttgart into next season’s Champions League, a situation which was only a dream for most of their fans when the campaign began. However, Guirassy may have had the chance to move clubs but could still find reasonable offers coming in the summer window for him to choose from as he seems destined to leave his current surroundings.
Tottenham are reportedly looking for a new striker, with the future of Riucbharlison called into question. Spurs might be open to offers coming in for the Brazilian. However, there are doubts whether any club will be willing to pay anywhere near what the north Londoners spent on him, although Guirassy might be a good option to replace him in the summer.
Guirassy has a modest £17.5 million release clause, something Stuttgart are eager to change with a new contract. Tottenham have pondered about him for a while, while there’s further interest from the likes of other clubs, although Spurs could get into the driving seat even without Champions League football next season.
Where else can Guirassy go?
Manchester United have cooled their interest after pursuing the striker since January. The new Red Devils Chiefs are not eager to sign a player of his age and instead are looking for someone a but younger to complement and challenge Rasmus Hojlund for a spot.
Chelsea are also in the race, although their interest is not concrete enough for other suitors to worry about. However, looking at his price point, many clubs, especially those in the Champions League, could potentially consider the attacker who scored 30 goals last season as a big option ahead of the summer.
