Manchester United are unlikely to make a move for 27-goal attacker Serhou Guirassy as INEOS are looking in another direction.

According to Give Me Sport, Manchester United may not pursue a deal for Serhou Guirassy despite heavy links to the 27-goal attacker since January. The Guinea striker has had a fantastic season with Stuttgart, but INEOS are probably looking in another direction in their search for a new forward.

Manchester United move for Serhou Guirassy ruled out

Manchester United are reportedly in the market for a new attacker in the close season, with the primary objective of adding a goalscorer and a replacement for Anthony Martial. The Frenchman’s contract expires in the summer and will leave the club for a new challenge elsewhere.

Serhou Guirassy was a big target for them in January, as some reports suggested they tried to sign the 27-goal attacker in that window. The Guinea striker has had a fantastic season with Stuttgart, netting 27 times in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester United were expected to pursue him in the summer, but now it appears INEOS have changed the direction of their thinking about recruitment. Guirassy is available for around €17.5 million in the next window as he has a release clause, but even the financial aspects do not appeal to INEOS.

INEOS are reportedly looking to add a new centre-forward with a younger age profile and higher ceiling, something Guirassy lacks. Hence, they are looking away from the Stuttgart striker as things stand, meaning they will look for a player with ages similar to Rasmus Hojlund or slightly older than the Dane.

Guirassy to make a Premier League move?

Even if Manchester United bow out of the race for Guirassy, the striker may still have plenty of suitors in the Premier League. It’s the forward’s dream to make a move to the top flight of the English, and he may have the likes of West Ham United and other sides chasing his signature in the close season.

Newcastle United are also keen, as they seek a prolific presence to replace Callum Wilson in the summer potentially. Hence, Guirassy will have many options, especially for the price he’s available for in the next window, as Stuttgart are helpless due to the modest release clause in his contract.

Go for Joshua Zirkzee, young and vibrant.
Tony’s demands are rather off range by far.
