Chelsea confident of winning the race for Michael Olise

Chelsea are optimistic about sinning the chase for Michael Olise this time around, with Manchester United also sniffing around.

According to Team Talk, Chelsea are growing confident about beating off competition for Michael Olise ahead of the summer. The Blues are keen to make a statement signing and might see the £60 million-rated player as one of their top targets, although Manchester United are also firmly in the race.

Chelsea are optimistic about Michael Olise

Last summer, Chelsea were very close to pulling off a big coup in the form of Michael Olise, who at the time had a modest £35 million release clause. Multiple sources stated the Blues had triggered that clause, although Olise rejected the move to sign a new deal with Crystal Palace.

The new contract might have included another release clause, although conflicting reports have stated there’s no such thing this time around. Palace are not overly keen to sell him, but if the player expresses the desire to take on a new challenge, bidding will begin at the £60 million mark.

Chelsea were expected to launch an offensive to sign Olise this summer after their failures last year, and now they are growing in confidence about Olise. The Blues view the £60 million-rated Palace winger as the ideal piece to their otherwise complicated puzzle to improve them ahead of the new season.

To acquire the winger, they may have to shell out well over the £60 million mark, as Palace are expected to extract full value from their key asset. Chelsea must fight off challenges from the likes of Manchester United, while Arsenal and Aston Villa are also credited with an interest in the winger.

Manchester United firmly fighting to sign Olise

Manhcester United are keen on Olise and could launch their own approach to convince the winger to join them. The Red Devils are eager to bring quality players on board, and Olise represents someone with great output who would suit their squad.

However, both Manchester United and Chelsea are in no position to offer Olise Champions League football, something the winger reportedly wants to play in. This is where other suitors like Arsenal and Aston Villa might have an advantage, although there’s nothing to suggest those will be the Palace stars’ preferred destinations.
