Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Give Me Sport, Chelsea will compete with Tottenham Hotspur for Eberechi Ezi. The English midfielder will cost around £60 million in the summer transfer window.
Eze has established himself as a key player for Crystal Palace, and he has 17 goal contributions in all competitions this season. The Englishman has the quality to play for the biggest clubs in the country, and he will be able to improve both Chelsea and Tottenham if the transfer goes through.
Chelsea need to add more creativity and craft in the final third. The 25-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder could prove to be the ideal acquisition. Eberechi Eze is capable of operating in the attacking midfield role as well as a winger. He will add goals, flair and creativity to the side.
The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the country will be quite attractive as well. Joining Chelsea would mean that he can continue in London and compete at a higher level.
Similarly, Tottenham will be an attractive destination for the player as well. Although the North London club already have a similar player in James Maddison, they will need to add more depth to the squad. So, Eze has emerged as a viable target.
Tottenham need someone like Eze
Spurs will be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season, and they need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions. They must look to bring in quality players if they want to win trophies, and the £60 million-rated Crystal Palace midfielder would be a superb acquisition.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat Chelsea and sign the midfielder this summer. Whoever ends up signing the 25-year-old will have a quality Premier League performer on their hands, and he could make an instant impact at both London clubs.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs are willing to pay the reported asking price for the player. Crystal Palace are unlikely to sanction his departure for a knockdown price. He is an indispensable asset for the Eagles and they will want to recoup the £60 million for him this summer.
