Manchester United make Aaron Anselmino move

Manchester United are in the market for multiple central defenders, as the club might look to bring an established star as well s a young talent. The latter seems to attract plenty of intrigue, with Boca Juniors’ star Aaron Anselmino widely suggested as a big target for the Red Devils.

The 19-year-old defender has been in sensational form for Boca Juniors, with Manchester United even sending scouts back in April to watch the 19-year-old defender in action. They might have accumulated positive results about him, as now a club official might be present to watch Boca Juniors in action against Talleres at the weekend.

While initial reports insisted the Manchester United official was there to watch Anselminoi in action, a recent report states the 19-year-old defender will play no part in the fixture owing to an injury. Now, the subject has moved towards ‘imminent talks’ with the player and his agent regarding a summer move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have recently seen some of their young stars rise to prominence, like Kobie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. They now want to add Anselmino to the mix. The Red Devils also have a good enough Argentine contingent to prise the 19-year-old defender to the club, and they might make an approach in the coming period.

Anselmino has a significant interest from elsewhere.

Manchester United might appear very close to making headway in the race for Anselmino, but they are not alone in the race. Chelsea have been keen on the defender and might be the other club mentioned in the report, as the Blues are also looking at young talents from South America.

Real Madrid held an interest, with some previous reports stating they were willing to pay as much as €20 million for the teenager. Now, all eyes will be on Boca Juniors and their demands to sell the 19-year-old defender. The club is undoubtedly about to ask for a good enough fee, considering Anselmino still has a contract until 2028.
