Alexis Mac Allister committed to Liverpool amid Real Madrid interest

Argentine star Alexis Mac Allister has no intentions of parting ways with Liverpool amidst interest from Real Madrid.

According to a report from Football Insider, Real Madrid are keen on acquiring the services of Alexis Mac Allister ahead of next season. While the Liverpool star is flattered by their interest, he is committed to the English club and is not looking to part ways.

Mac Allister’s impressive rise

Mac Allister made a name for himself while playing for Brighton in the Premier League. His performances for the Seagulls and the Argentina national team had put him on the wishlist of multiple top clubs.

While there was a lot of interest in him, Liverpool managed to land him at the club last summer for a fee of just £35 million. He was one of the key signings that the Reds made in an attempt to overhaul their midfield and it has showcased great results in the 2023/24 season.

The Argentine midfielder has featured in 46 matches for the English giants. He has been used as a defensive midfielder as well as in a bit more attacking role and has 14 goal contributions (7 goals, 7 assists).

Mac Allister to continue at Liverpool

While his contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2028, Real Madrid are one of the clubs that seem keen on having him in their ranks. Los Blancos have been linked with a potential move for the 25-year-old and those speculations have increased following Toni Kroos’ decision to retire.

With the Real Madrid mainstay calling it a day, Ancelotti could look for someone who can help control the tempo and Mac Allister could be an ideal choice. Reports in Argentina suggest that there is a release clause worth £60 million in his contract for the upcoming window and it could lead to his departure.

While the former Brighton star is happy to be linked with the Spanish giants, he has no intentions of leaving the Merseyside club just 12 months after joining them despite the departure of Jurgen Klopp. He is committed to the Liverpool project and is excited to work under their new boss Arne Slot.
